Potted Parent is a houseplant care website run by Dark Haus Studio. This page explains, in plain language, what information the site collects and what happens to it.

What we collect

  • Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which guides people read. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymous: pages visited, rough location at the city level, device type, and how a visitor arrived. It is never used to identify you personally.
  • Email you send us. If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply.
  • The pet safety checker runs locally. Anything you type into the checker is processed in your own browser. It is never sent to us or stored anywhere.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart. Advertising partners, once ads are enabled on the site, may set their own cookies to measure and personalise ads; Google publishes how it uses information from sites that use its services, and you can opt out of personalised advertising in your Google account settings or your browser. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies entirely; the site works fine if you do.

Some pages link to products at retailers. If you buy through one of those links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those retailers have their own privacy policies for whatever happens on their sites.

What we never do

We do not sell personal information. We do not run accounts, sign ups, or comments, so there is no profile of you here to sell.
